A Mosaic of Gifts: Collaborations for Peace through World Languages and Global Initiatives

Furlow Charter School, Georgia Southwestern State University and the Georgia Department of Education World Languages and Global Initiatives, hosted a hybrid (in person and virtual) learning event on October 6, 2021, in Americus, Georgia.

The mission of the 3rd annual Jubilee International Symposium was to bring Georgia’s educators, experts, and community members together for the development of innovative peace initiatives and the creation of public and private sector partnerships that foster global citizenship.

This free event featured presentations for teachers and students to learn about unique opportunities to become engaged in global education, potential partnerships with state, national, and international organizations to enhance cross-cultural education in the classroom, and service-learning models in any classroom. Educators and community guests heard from experts about Georgia’s global workforce needs and the importance of intercultural competence.
