Mattie Stepanek had a dream for our world, a wisdom beyond his years, a caring, passion, dedication and determination to make his message heard and known and believed. When we let down our guard and listen to others, we can start to build the bridges toward each other instead of building up walls between us. When we think of “them” as “other”, we don’t see the need to communicate, consider, protect. But when we take the time to remember that “they” are really “us”, we can try to understand and begin to make necessary change. And peace. I’m so thankful for Mattie and his message. I believe it will continue to spread and we will all be the change that the world needs and that Mattie believed in and called for. Let’s continue his mission for peace. – Kate Esaia & Family, Mount Laurel, NJ (Peace Club Family).

NOTE – Reply from Mattie’s mom: Indeed – but he would also move from attitude to action, not judging others, but doing all he could to help others (all others) better understand peace, for ourselves and for each other and our world. :) -

Hi Mama Peace: Gavin and I read this last night.  He was so inspired at the words Mattie used at a young age. We talked about our world and peace.  Gavin doesn’t like that there is fighting in the world. He said the only good thing was his parents met on their way to war and he is here today.  He said if they hadn’t met he wouldn’t have been born. I said sad, but true. We counted our blessings, prayed for you, and others. – Marrianne Maurice & grandson (Peace Club Kid) Gavin (Sharon, PA)
