Spotlight Feature

Posted on: April 17th, 2012 by jeni No Comments

Our Spotlight Feature introduces website visitors to individuals or organizations which exemplify Mattie’s vision for “choosing peace for ourselves and for our world.” Three categories are based on Mattie’s “Three Choices for Peace” concept. The fourth category recognizes an outstanding sponsor (individual or organization) whose financial or in-kind contribution supports the mission and work of Mattie’s Foundation, or supports people in need of hope and peace.

Each year, we feature Spotlight role models
who receive the following:

- Recognition on our website Spotlight and Archives pages
- A Certificate of Recognition from Mattie’s Foundation
- Mention in relevant news stories or activity sponsor lists
- Info/weblink to material, program, event sponsors/businesses

During 2015, we are featuring individuals and groups who support the mission of Mattie’s Foundation through participation in or support of our activities and programs. We are celebrating youth and adults — both long-term and new supporters — who are choosing to move from “attitude to action” with peace choices, and participation or support.

Peace Spotlights 2016-2017

Theme: “Peace is for All People.”

“Peace matters.
And, peace is possible,

if we each choose to make peace
something that matters
for ourselves, and for all people
in all spaces of our world.”
Mattie J.T. Stepanek

During 2015,
we are celebrating Spotlight Honorees
who participate in and/or support the
peace programs and activities developed
by the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Foundation.

These programs and activities are rooted
in the message of hope that Mattie shared through
his books, speeches, and conversations,
and they are built on his
“Three Choices for Peace” –
a concept and template  that supports
youth and adults in better understanding
how peace begins and how peace grows,
and in choosing peace as a deliberate
attitude and action that shapes reality.

Peace is for all people — and
any person of any age in any space of our world
can be recognized as a Peace Spotlight Honoree during 2015 –
by choosing to move from attitude to action with peace,
or by being supported in doing so by an adult or mentor.
