The King Farm Citizen’s Assembly (KFCA) has supported the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Foundation since the Foundation was created in 2005. In 2008, they worked directly with the Foundation and the City of Rockville to host the Dedication Ceremony for the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park – an event attended by thousands of people, from Mattie’s friends and neighbors to celebrities and politicians. KFCA continues to provide both financial and logistic support to the Foundation, most recently making a sizable donation to support the 2011 Peace Celebration. Representatives from KFCA said, “Mattie’s spirit of bravery, idealism, and philosophy lives on in our community. We remain thankful for the opportunity to have known Mattie, and the KFCA remains supportive of the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Foundation.” The KFCA is responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of the residential sections of King Farm – an award-winning planned community in the heart of both the City of Rockville and Montgomery County Maryland. The community offers mixed residential units, stores and restaurants, businesses and employment, parks and pools, community buildings and activities, green space and trails, and easy access to public transport (including the DC area Metro). The Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park is located at the north end of the King Farm community. Mattie and Jeni chose this community as their home several years before Mattie died.
