Friday evening, I joined local neighbors for the newest Main Street Connect art display, and learned about the impact of culture and memory and emotion and hope on the artistic creations of Daniela Godoy — the fall visiting artist.
On Saturday and Sunday, I sat with traveling neighbors as so many many (many) Mattie stories set the tables of time together… we chatted together and in small groups with others about the now-growing plans for a musical / theatrical production… a project that (re)introduces Mattie in a new generation, and that connects Mattie’s message to the mosaic of community that impacted the brief life of this young poet, peacemaker, and philosopher who played, and to the power of purpose and choices within and from each of us, and all of us.
