Mattie’s final collection of poetry was published posthumously, and offers eight chapters of verse and one chapter with an excerpt from a novel Mattie was working on. Each chapter has an introductory passage by Mattie’s mom, Jeni, and also a chapter foreword by a special person in Mattie’s life, including Maya Angelou, Larry King, Christopher Cross, Jimmy Carter, Jerry Lewis, Chris Cuomo, and Jann Carl. This NY Times Bestselling book is filled with photographs, includes some of Mattie’s finger paintings, and contains poetry that spans the entire decade of Mattie’s writing — from age 3 through his final months of life at age 13. Another bestseller, Mattie’s fifth book of poetry offers five chapters of poetry – Finding Love from Lessons, Witnessing Love in Creation, Sharing Love Through People, Keeping Love Amid Challenges, and Learning Love for the Future.
