Peace Tips & Tools

Mattie’s Foundation offers Peace Tips and Peace Tools to support youth and adults in better understanding what peace is, and what peace is not. Our resources are rooted in the elements and characteristics of peace that Mattie explored in his books and speeches, and they reflect the strengths and challenges that are a part of our world today.

All of our Peace Tip and Peace Tool materials offer a mix of information and inspiration that support people and places in learning and teaching about a variety of peace characteristics and elements. They also provide suggested conversation starters and sample activities that can be adapted for diverse ages and community preferences and needs.

Our 24-page Peace Tips Guide is available to people and places who are seeking or renewing Peace Certification by Mattie’s Foundation. Peace Certification is a simple, Foundation-supported three-choice journey that involves reflecting on an element of Mattie’s peace message, responding to that element as an individual or family or community, and then reaching out to share that message or peace element with other individuals or communities.

Coming soon are additional Peace Tip Supplements and Peace Tool materials that are being created to support people and places as they explore a specific element of peace, or as they choose to host a peace activity or event. Our Peace Tip Supplement resources will be helpful to educators, businesses, community leaders, and other advocates as they work to deal with specific challenges or build on community strengths with the purpose of amplifying and teaching peace. Our Peace Tool materials will guide people and places as they plan a gathering, celebration, or other peace event for or with their school, business, or community.
